Surface Shift was an architectural intervention which physically altered the topography of the gallery at Open Space in Baltimore, MD. Visitors were invited to walk on, sit down, jump around, climb over, and lay down in this immersive piece. Over the course of the exhibition the installation hosted an event series titled Site Horizon featuring an Experimental Music Showcase and a Panel Discussion on Art and Design.

Crater!  |  Artscape  |  Baltimore, MD
Crater! was featured as an Anchor Project for Artscape 2016 in Baltimore, MD. The 50’ diameter sculpture was built from plywood and framing lumber, and its concave deck sloping 4’ off the ground created a gathering space that invited visitor to climb on and explore new vantages. The geodesic meteor that crash landed at the crater’s center lit up the nights.

Crater! hosted a curated program of live mural and chalk painting, a skateboarding demo, performances in poetry, dance, theater, and music. Special thanks to Bmore than Dance, the Joint Youth Movement, Deep Vision Dance Company, Studio 217 Game Company, Vu Skate Shop, Llamadon, and Tender FM.

Other collaborators include Stephanie Wallace and Troop 209, Diosi Smith, and Skylar Gibbons Reich. Featuring Visual Art work by Juansebastián Serrano, Sam Reitenbach, Renz Balagtas, Gage Branda, Anuj Malla, Hannah Leighton, Madeleine Marie, Amy Scovil, Rowan Fulton, Melissa Mariano, and Jack Waters.

Musical Performances by Slurred Words, Alone Time, Romantic States, Other Colors, Kinetic Frenetic, Not A Collective, Sneaks, Urban Shaman, Dylijens, :3LON, Joy Postell, Butch Dawson, SMLH, BLUD, Crisco Dreams, and Hollywood Blanks.
