Crater! was featured as an Anchor Project for Artscape 2016 in Baltimore, MD. The 50’ diameter sculpture was built from plywood and framing lumber, and its concave deck sloping 4’ off the ground created a gathering space that invited visitor to climb on and explore new vantages. The geodesic meteor that crash landed at the crater’s center lit up the nights.
Crater! hosted a curated program of live mural and chalk painting, a skateboarding demo, performances in poetry, dance, theater, and music. Special thanks to Bmore than Dance, the Joint Youth Movement, Deep Vision Dance Company, Studio 217 Game Company, Vu Skate Shop, Llamadon, and Tender FM.
Other collaborators include Stephanie Wallace and Troop 209, Diosi Smith, and Skylar Gibbons Reich.
